52 Weeks of Online American Digital Archives and Databases: Alaska

This is the second post in a weekly series of Online American Digital Archives and Databases found for free at state, county, municipal, college and university history, library, and archive websites, as well as public and private library and museum sites, and historical and genealogical society sites.

Alaska

North to the future AND the past! If you are a regular reader of my blog, you know that I was born and grew up in Alaska, moving to Washington State when I was 12. I have had such fun looking at these sites and seeing historical photographs of the communities where I lived: Kodiak, Fairbanks, Metlakatla, Kake, and Klawock. I also ran the phrase "Salvation Army" through the search engines, as this organization has a long history of service in Alaska.

Did your ancestors or relatives come to Alaska to fish, work in lumber or mining, or were they lured by the Gold Rush? Check out these resources!
