Reuben Wohlford and Elizabeth (Nearhood) Snook. C. 1873 or later.Original photograph privately held by Troy Midkiff, [ADDRESS FOR PRIVATE USE], Vancouver, Washington. 2010.
Karen, my husband descends from Palatine immigrants Johannes SCHNUCH and Juliana Cathrina Schroder KLEE. You can trace this family at my husband's online family tree.
Hello - My grgrgrgrandparents were Mathias Snook (Schnug) and Maria Christinas Kleckner. I believe this Reuben Snook or perhaps one of his children (going on memory here) was a guide for the famous western artist Charles Russell. In fact if you see the painting, A Bronc to Breakfast, this Snook was painted into the picture. He is the cook. Jim Avery, Dover PA
My cousins are from Reubens family , his don John Albert. Reuben had a son George who changed his name to Snooks and lived in central Montana. I have that picture. I have researched that family and would guess you are talking about George although I never heard that story.
Not a Snook, but my great great grand uncles were also in that painting. I believe it was Frank and George Nelson. My grandfather Yens Rivenes would regale us with stories of the Nelson boys! Wish I could remember the stories!
I’m not a Snook, but I am a relative of the Nelson boys. I believe Frank and George are in this painting. My Grandfather, Yens Rivenes, would regale us with great stories of the Nelson boys and their exploits with Charlie Russell. Wish I could remember those stories, they were fun! :)

Wonder if there's a connection: My husband's family has Snook kin, in southwest Florida (Lakeland - Sanibel locations).
