Tuesday's Tip: The Confederate Pensions Databases (Again)
Today's tip is to revisit my post written four years ago, "Confederate Pensions Databases".When I originally wrote that post, only about half the former Confederate states had pension indexes available online. Slowly more have been added, and I just updated and added quite a number of links. Currently, only the state of Alabama does not have an online index or database available, but I do have information on how to contact their state archives. If you have ancestors who fought for the Confederacy and lived in former Confederate states after the war, check out these links to see if they received a pension. You'll be sure to want to order the pension from the corresponding state archive; like Union veteran pension applications, there is sure to be a wealth of genealogical materials available!
