I love using its reports, so I can see where I've spent money (and thus make cutbacks).

The presentation went well. The KCGS has a wonderful group of members, and I got to meet the helpful Hayden FHC director as well. There was a group of about 25 in attendance, including some who had never before attended a genealogical society meeting.Miriam Robbinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12021845886261585678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38696983.post-37323821260652045512007-10-17T08:26:00.000-07:002007-10-17T08:26:00.000-07:00Your organization is absolutely amazing!I have onl...Your organization is absolutely amazing!

I have only been researching since 2005, but I'm afraid to tally the amount of money I've spent. If my husband saw it he'd probably start looking for his next wife.

Fortunately he has a very expensive hobby.

You are an inspiration and from this day forward, I'm going to try to keep track!

Good luck with the lecture.

fMfootnoteMavenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16136826114954180827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38696983.post-9828128752614552542007-10-14T15:34:00.000-07:002007-10-14T15:34:00.000-07:00Apple, we have regular phone service (I keep one o...Apple, we have regular phone service (I keep one of our three home phones plugged in, in case of a power outage; the other two are cordless), and we all have various models of TracFone cell phones with personalized pay-as-you go plans. The kids and I have paid a double minutes charge which is very economical; and my hubby, who hardly uses his, has a $5 a month rollback to keep minutes until he uses them. Since we're all miles apart from each other during the day, it's a way to ensure we can communicate in case of an emergency.

I forgot to mention that when I had dial-up service, I used CallWave to notify us when someone was attempting to call our home number while we were online, as we did not have call waiting or caller ID. I think we paid a one-time $7.00 hookup fee, and then $3.00 or 4.00 a month for that service.Miriam Robbinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12021845886261585678noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38696983.post-32393984296987249972007-10-14T15:25:00.000-07:002007-10-14T15:25:00.000-07:00I made the choice to have high speed internet rath...I made the choice to have high speed internet rather than cable TV too.I also keep almost all files on my computer, I rarely print anything and I keep most of my backups in free email accounts. I use a 10-10 service for international calls but for local & long distance domestic calls we have ViOP. For about $20 a month I get all the minutes I need, although with teenagers it might not be enough for you :)Charley "Apple" Grabowskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07193646109965731249noreply@blogger.com
