Reuben had a son George who changed his name to Snooks and lived in central Montana. I have that picture. I have researched that family and would guess you are talking about George although I never heard that story. I believe this Reuben Snook or perhaps one of his children (going on memory here) was a guide for the famous western artist Charles Russell. In fact if you see the painting, A Bronc to Breakfast, this Snook was painted into the picture. He is the cook.
